"Singer" Spinning Wheel

If video of wheel spinning does not play - click on the name above (Redirects to You Tube)

This unique spinning wheel was created using the treadle base of an old Singer sewing machine.

A very large flyer unit ("Grandmother-of-All") was attached and spun

with a Navajo Ply belt twisted through pulleys.

Niddy Noddy

The finished yarn is wound on this measuring stick

to calculate the amount (in yards)

Ball Winder

Crank the handle and the yarn wraps around into a ball.

You can pull from the center or from both the outside and

center simultaneously for plying upon itself.

Swift

By transferring your yarn from the niddy noddy to the

swift you can use the ball winder without another’s help.

(The swift spins around.)

Cards

These are like large dog brushes.

Used together it straightens and aligns fiber.

They can also be used for blending.
